Training Advisor Qualification (ABB)
The Integrated Semester Placement (ISP) is an important milestone in the higher education of trainee teachers. During this placement – the most extensive of the three compulsory placements – students spend up to 15 weeks at a school, gaining practical teaching experience. Responsibility for supervision is shared between academic staff at the Karlsruhe University of Education and specially qualified training advisers (ABB for short).
Target audience
The ABB qualification is a three-day face-to-face training course held at the Karlsruhe University of Education for interested teachers from primary and lower secondary schools.
Successful completion of the qualification programme by a participating teacher entitles the school to accept ISP students.
Sending teachers on this training course is also beneficial for schools that do not wish to offer the ISP programme but nevertheless regularly take on students for other teaching placements.
