Internationalisation@home

It is not only through studying or doing an internship abroad that you have the opportunity to gain international experience. Our university also offers a variety of opportunities to gain international experience and to broaden your intercultural competences ‘at home’. This page provides some information on which opportunities and projects we offer under the framework of Internationalisation@home.

Offers

  • A group picture of the participants at the Winter School 20205 at KUE.

Summer Schools within the "Get Ready for Global Teaching!" project

Under the framework of the DAAD-funded “Get Ready for Global Teaching!” project, we regularly offer international Summer Schools in cooperation with partner universities that take place at Karlsruhe University of Education. These offer a great opportunity to engage in an intensive exchange on pressing issues and topics related to future-oriented education with international students and lecturers.

Language courses at the Language Learning Centre

Our Language Learning Centre offers free-of-charge language courses to all students and employees. Moreover, you can apply and enhance your language skills in our university-wide language tandem programme.

    Buddy-Programme

Within our Buddy-Programme, you volunteer to accompany incoming international students that study with us for one or two semesters. You support international students in particular at the beginning of their stay, e.g., with administrative issues, matriculation, but also in settling in in Karlsruhe and at our university. The International Office is responsible for the Buddy-Programme and is always happy to welcome new Buddies!

    Get involved as a Buddy.

    Blended Mobility - Mixed Programmes

If you are interested in shorter study stays of one to four weeks that include a virtual component, then a so-called Blended Mobility Program might be of interest to you. Individual courses can be taken online at partner universities and then completed on-site abroad, or a virtual collaboration within a course may conclude with joint project work and an intensive week at the partner university. For several years now, our university has been offering such programs in collaboration with specific university partners, which are financially supported by Erasmus+ funding. Currently, these programs are still available on a very limited basis. Further information can be found on the project page linked here.
