Further research projects
Female teachers – teachers’ associations – celibacy amongst female teachers – on the history of female teachers in the 19th and 20th centuries
The estate of the teacher Febronie Rommel (1853–1927) reveals many new and hitherto little-researched aspects of the lives of female teachers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Countless written sources (including letters, school reports, newspaper articles, a diary covering the First World War, and the minutes of the General German Association of Female Teachers) raise new research questions and reveal previously unknown and unexplored perspectives.

INTRO – A course book for subject-specific language teaching
The INTRO German as a Second Language textbook has been specifically designed for teaching German as a second language (DaZ) in language learning classes. It is aimed at lower secondary school pupils with little or no knowledge of German and guides them to level B1 (CEFR) within one school year. With the help of ‘INTRO German as a Second Language’, pupils new to the German school system are optimally prepared to participate in mainstream secondary education. Subject-oriented language teaching is pursued, with consistent consideration given to the pupils’ future role as students.

In the CoCreate COIL project, we collaborate (co-creation) in a transdisciplinary and transnational manner on the topics of multilingualism and culturally and linguistically sensitive teaching. The CoCreate COIL team develops and implements COIL formats for higher education teaching. In doing so, we work across different time zones and academic terms using interactive, digital, asynchronous formats.
