Organisation and Management
Our university comprises the operational areas of study and teaching, research and continuing professional development, and the administrative sector, also known as the academic support sector. At the helm is the Rector’s Office, supported by the University Council and the Senate.
Management
The three bodies – the Rector’s Office, the University Council and the Senate – together form the university’s governing body. Their shared aim is to strategically strengthen our university in the areas of study and teaching, research, academic continuing education and knowledge transfer, as well as to expand partnerships and international collaborations.
-
University Council
The University Council is the supervisory body. It carries out strategic tasks, deliberates on structural and development planning, and oversees the management of the Rector’s Office.
-
Rector's Office
Our Rectorate consists of four members. Together, they manage the affairs of our university and take strategic decisions. The Rules of Procedure form the basis for this. Departments, institutions and support units report to them.
-
Senate
The Senate decides on matters relating to research, teaching and student studies which are of fundamental importance and which are not, by law, delegated to another body, the faculties or the institutions.

Depending on the subject area, these may consist of individuals or elected bodies. They shape the scope for action or represent the concerns of members of the university community.
